Mazda Sets a Course Record at Daytona

One of the most legendary raceways in America has a new track record holder as the Mazda Team's Mazda RT24-P model had the fastest lap time ever for the Daytona International Speedway. The No. 77 car driven by Olly Jarvis went around the 3.56-mile course in just 1:33.685 in qualifying for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. It took years of hard work to get to this point, but believing that there's always something to improve is what makes Mazda models leaders among their respective classes. When you read below, you can learn about this record-setting Mazda and the technologies that made it possible!

How Did Mazda Set a Daytona Speedway Record?

Lots of the honor of this time falls, of course, on the driver, Olly Jarvis, and the team behind tweaking the No. 77 Mazda RT24-P. It takes a lot of teamwork to break a 26-year-old record, and it's that same teamwork that makes our Mazda models so tremendous. Aerodynamics, power-to-weight ratio, and overall design are how you create the fastest car Daytona has ever seen, and they're also key tenants behind what makes Mazda a brand performance enthusiasts love. We have a range of Mazda models that will excite you, from two-seaters to mid-size SUVs, and you'll know that the champion heritage is in each of them!
